Iron By Aaron designs and fabricates architectural and other ironwork for galleries, interior designers, architects, and contractors. Traditional blacksmithing, welding, and other fabrication techniques are used.
Aaron Craig, the "Aaron" of Iron By Aaron, was born in Ketchikan, Alaska but grew up in Taos, New Mexico. Sometime in his childhood he decided he wanted to work with metal, but somehow he ended up cooking for 12 years in many different Taos restaurants. Teaching himself to weld, he began fabricating objects and gradually learned to forge, originally with coal and now with propane. In 2001, he launched his own business and in 2003 relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico. There, in his 2000 square-foot shop, he creates custom furniture for several galleries, as well as railings, functional accessories, and now a line of hardware and household accessories. He has completed a public art project for the City of Santa Fe, the Waveform Railing, and is working to establish himself as an artist locally. He welcomes your comments and questions.
